Please pray that the Banjara people will know God's great love.
Hello. My name is Banjara. I'm 9 years old.
I live in a village in the
country of India.
Look here to see where I live...
My house is made of mud walls and a straw roof.
I love the feel of music. The sounds of fiddles and flutes, drums and jingles send my heart and feat a-dancin! In the market I dance with the other girls. We always draw a crowd which gives me a chance to sell my jewelry and my mother to tell people their fortunes. My mother tries to teach me how to tell fortunes, but I prefer to dance to the music.
Tomorrow we will have a special day of dancing. We call it a Lambadi dance. I will put on a colorful costume and jewelry The women will dance to the tune of the drummers. The dance is an honor to the Lord for a good harvest year. I always have so much fun! I can't wait to go to sleep tomorrow so I can wake up and dance!
