Together we can make a difference.
On October 20, 2013, I will be running 26.2 miles in my first marathon (the Des Moines IMT Marathon). During my half marathon training last year, I decided this year's race would be about something more than personal achievement so I am running to raise money to build a clean water well in India. The need is great but all it takes is a few friends giving $1/mile to impact thousands of lives. Would you consider supporting me in this effort?
DONATE HERE or you can mail your donation to GPPD (address below) with a note that you are giving toward Houdeshell clean water well campaign. Enter total donation amount below.
Feel free to follow my journey below.
It's less than three weeks to the marathon, I've logged well over 350 training miles and am beginning to taper off on my weekly miles. My longest run was 20 miles a couple weeks ago. It was a strong run but I was exhausted at the end. I'll have to push to get to 26.2 miles. I had the opportunity to visit Niagara Falls last week. It was incredible to see the power of water as it fell from the top of the falls to the bottom. As I reflected on this experience, I thought about the power that clean water can have on a villiage. For so many, it is the difference between life and death. Thank you for partnering with me to build a clean water well and make a positive difference in the world.
