Traveler’s Diarrhea: Caused by viruses, bacteria, or parasites, which are found throughout the region and can contaminate food and /or water.  Infections may cause diarrhea, vomiting, and fever.  Make sure you drink only bottled water.

*OPTIONAL:  Ask your doctor to prescribe you the two following medicines as a preventative: Cipro 500mg and Flagyl.

 

To Stay Healthy:

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water or antibacterial hand wash.
  • Drink only bottled water or carbonated drinks in cans or bottles.
  • Avoid tap water, fountain drinks, and ice cubes at all times.
  • Eat only thoroughly cooked food and fruits and vegetables that can be peeled.
