"There are thousands of people in this village. This island is surrounded by water on all sides, so people have been getting their water from the lake. It is not good water. When women come to get water, they get hot on the way home and drink it while they're walking before they can boil it. They're already sick anyway, so some people just stopped boiling it. This well is going to cut down on diseases big time. There are other wells in this village, but they are broken. When we first got this well last month, the nuts came loose because so many people were using it. People line up in the mornings waiting. I now have tools to fix it and have hired a Muslim man to manage the well and lock it up at night. I am so grateful and thankful to you and your friends for giving my village the best Christmas gift I have ever gotten. This was the best part of 2018 for me. From the bottom of my heart, I thank you."
